  • Lil Wayne Heads Home After Six-Day Hospital Stay
  • It's been a rough week for Lil Wayne, but after six days in the hospital Weezy is finally headed home on Monday (March 18).
The Young Money rap star was admitted into Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles after he suffered a seizure on Tuesday, but yesterday YM president and Wayne's close friend Mack Maine broke the good news on Twitter. "Thanks to Cedar Sinai for everything!!! @LilTunechi has been officially been released and is headed home....God is great," he wrote capping his tweet of with an emoticon of a pair of hands in the prayer position.

"God Bless.my son just release frm hospital.thanks 4 all tha luv.YMCMB.Richgang," Birdman then added.
Mack traveled to New York today and even hit Brooklyn Bowl with his "Celebrate" collaborator Talib Kweli, but has done well in giving fans updates on Wayne's condition over the past few days. On Friday when it was reported by TMZ that the global rap icon was in a medical coma and being prepared for his last rites, Mack and Cash Money CEO Birdman combated the false reports via Twitter.
With so many questions surrounding Wayne's health Birdman made a call into Hot 97's "Angie Martinez Show" earlier today and clarified that on Tuesday his star rapper only suffered from one seizure and not the multiple attacks that had been previously reported. He also confirmed that Weezy was never discharged last week, and had remained in the Cedars-Sinai for six days straight, though it had been reported by TMZ that he was released on Wednesday, and then at some point readmitted.
There were also reports that the "No Worries" MC had his stomach pumped three times because doctors found large amounts of codeine in his system. Birdman wasn't asked if Wayne had his stomach pumped, therefore he didn't speak on it, but he did say with great confidence that Wayne's seizures had nothing to do with any drug abuse. "To me, it's just his work ethic. It's just how he put in and what he believe in and how hard he work, how much dedication he gives to music and his fans and what he tryin' to accomplish in life. It had nothing to do with drugs," he said over the phone. "He just needs to get some rest, relax, take it one day at a time."
