A 35-year old escapee prisoner, Mr Olusola Adewale, and two others have
been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a 75-year old woman,
Mrs Aina Rose.
The two other suspects, who were being detained at the Police
headquarters in Ado Ekiti include: Owolabi Ojo, 48 and Adedayo Popoola,
48.
Mrs Aina was kidnapped at Ilogbo Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area
of Ekiti State last week by suspected gunmen, among whom were the three
suspects.
However, the Ekiti State Police Command Anti-Kidnapping Squad at about
6.30am on Tuesday secured the release of the abducted woman at Ita
Ogbolu town, in Ondo State.
While parading the suspects yesterday at the Command’s headquarters,
the State Police Commissioner, Mr Etop James, said two of the suspects
were arrested at Ita Ogbolu, while the hostage’s driver, who was alleged
to have given clue on how the woman could be kidnapped, was arrested in
at Ilogbo Ekiti.
James described the suspects as members of the syndicates that have
been terrorising and perpetrating high profile kidnapping in Edo, Ondo,
Ekiti and Delta States in recent time.
