The media bus conveying reporters at the presidency has been involved in
a fatal accident. One journalist died on the spot, while others
attached to the Presidency at the Flagstaff House sustained varying
degrees of injury after a Ford bus on which they were travelling burst a
tyre, veered off the road and landed in a swampy area near the Shai
Hills Resource Reserve on the Akosombo-Tema highway.
The deceased has been identified as Samuel Nuamah of the Ghanaian Times and member of the Presidential Press Corps. The journalists were returning to Accra from Ho where President John Mahama had attended the annual convention of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana.
