Eleven Chadian soldiers have been killed and 13 injured in an attack by
suspected Boko Haram fighters early this morning, the AFP news agency is
reporting quoting a security source. The attack happened near Lake
Chad, close to the border with Nigeria.
Chad has joined a regional military alliance, alongside Niger, Cameroon and Nigeria, to fight Boko Haram, which has waged a bloody insurgency since 2009 marked by mass abductions, village massacres and suicide bombings by women and teenagers.
