Niger Imposes New State Of Emergency On Southern Region Over Incessant Boko Haram Attacks

Niger has imposed a new state of emergency on its southern region of Diffa because of attacks by the Islamist group, Boko Haram. More than 40 people have been killed in recent weeks in the area that borders Nigeria - where the militants are based.

The UN has estimated that there have been 57 attacks in Diffa since February.
