80 Year Old Woman Set To Find Her First Love -60 Years After Breakup

The woman pictured above is on the path of finding her first love after she broke up with him some 60 years ago. The 80-year-old Chinese woman identified as Luo Xiuying, 80, still hasn’t given up on the idea of meeting her former flame -Jin Pinnan, once again. The two hadn’t ended up together because of a misunderstanding – something that has bothered Luo throughout her life.


Speaking to the Chengdu Business Daily, Luo who is a resident of Nanchong city, Sichuan Province, said that they had begun dating in 1955, when Jin, a soldier, had been temporarily stationed in the city.

They spent some time together before Jin had to leave for a posting in far-away Tianjin. Thereafter, they began to communicate through letters. But unfortunately, two strange letters led to their relationship falling apart.


First Luo received an anonymous letter telling her that Jin was already married to someone else. That was followed by another letter from Jin himself, claiming that he had been set up and wanted to get back with her.

When Luo attempted to resolve the misunderstanding, she was told that Jin had once again changed his station. The two lost contact following that.

A few years after that, Luo married He Shusen, and the couple has led a happy life. But the misunderstanding that ended that youthful romance has continued to play on Luo’s mind.

At the age of 80 now, she decided that it was time that she do something about how she had been feeling and reached out to the newspaper for help, in the hope to see Jin once again or at least to know how his life had been and thank him for the help he had once given to her and her family.

Luo’s husband is all too supportive of her decision, saying that he doesn’t want her to have any regrets.
