  • "Every Time He Wins A Prize, He Calls Me" -- Yaya Toure's Father Speaks On His BBC Football Award
  • Yaya Toure's father has revealed his joy after he was told that his son had won the BBC African Footballer of the Year award again. “All this happiness makes us live. Every time he brings in a prize he calls me to tell me," he said to BBC. He did, however, ask when his younger brother Kolo - also a English Premier League footballer - is going to start winning awards.

Ivory Coast and Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has won the BBC African Footballer of the Year award.

The 32-year-old becomes only the third player, after Nigerians Nwankwo Kanu and Jay-Jay Okocha, to receive the honour twice.
