Former President of the Senate, Dr David Mark was confered with the chieftaincy title of OGOMOLA K'OHIMINI by the people of Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State on March 14,2016.
Performing the traditional rite at Idekpa, the headquarters of Ohimini LG, the Ad'Ohimini, Chief (Dr.) John Ochai Ajefu said the chieftaincy title was long overdue and could not wait any longer than now.
According to Chief Ajefu, Ohimini LGA has benefitted so much from Senator David Mark through many influential appointments of her sons and daughters at both levels of the government, as well as laudable developmental projects he brought to her domain.
"You deserve even much more than a title. The entire people of Ohimini LGA are eternally grateful unto you and they have asked the Ohimini traditional council to bestow on you, the prestigious title of OGOMOLA 1 of Ohimini, which literally means a courageous and audacious man who can enter fire, fight for his people and come out victorious", he said.
Responding, the OGOMOLA LOTU WOLA K'OHIMINI, Chief David Mark thanked the good people of Ohimini for always standing by him amidst all odds. He appreciated the gestures of the traditional rulers for finding him worthy to be one of them in-council.
While acknowledging the efforts of Ohimini people for turning out enmasse to cast their votes for him in the last senatorial rerun, the Senator also enjoined the people to pray and stand by Agatu in their moment of need.
