A 19 year old secondary school student, Moyinoluwa Abdukareem, was last Friday allegedly abducted by a commercial motorcycle rider popularly known as Okada rider in Owo, Ondo state.
The girl, who just finished National Examination Council (NECO) examination last Friday at Prospect High School, Owo, was allegedly kidnapped by a man that rode the Okada she took on her way home after her transaction in a new generation bank in the town.
The alleged abduction of the girl was disclosed by her father, Mr Boa Abdulkareem, who said the girl had not been released as at Sunday.
“My daughter said he diverted from the road that links the bank to a bush and she said he asked him why he did so and he said he was avoiding the police checking point.
“That was what my daughter said she knew until she found herself in a room.
“Up till now, I did not hear further from her and her abductor and he has not demanded for any ransom.” her father said.
The Division Police Officer (DPO) of “A” Division in Owo, Mr. Oluwole Fabiyi, who confirmed the abduction to newsmen, said the Police are waiting for the family to furnish it with more information before setting on rescue mission.
Meanwhile, the Police have arrested parents of two siblings, Dapo and Olajuwon Babatobi, for alleged involvement in their disappearance last Wednesday, in Ilara-Makin, Ifedore Local Government Area of the state.
Dapo, who is nine year-old and Olajuwon, seven year-old, were declared missing last Wednesday after returning from school by their grandmother, Mrs. Fadekemi Falodun.
It was gathered that the kids, who have been living with their grandmother since the separation of their parents, informed the neighbours that they were going to their mother’s house, who has remarried to another man to eat since they did not meet the grandmother at home after returning from school last Wednesday.
According to a source, they neither got to their mother’s house nor returned to their grandmother’s house.
The police spokesperson said the grandmother, who was initially arrested, was later released due to her age.
