  • PHOTOS: Ooni of Ife and his Queen named as Royal Ambassadors for Hepatitis advocacy

  • In a bid to create awareness for a Hepatitis free society, the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Arole Oduduwa, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi Ojaja II and his wife Yeyelwa Wuraola Ogunwusi have been named the Royal Ambassadors for Hepatitis advocacy in Nigeria.



    The royal father was announced as the ambassador on Thursday following the kick-off of a 2-day awareness program in Ife with an award ceremony.



    Other Goodwill Ambassadors include General Yakubu Gowon and Media Personality Latasha Ngwube.









    The awareness program was organised by SHECA Foundation to mark the World Hepatitis day.

    Also, on Thursday, a charity Walk For Life event promoting a healthy liver was flagged off by Her Majesty Yeyeoluwa Wuraola Ogunwusi.



    SHECA put together a series of events to promote screening, prevention and treatment of Hepatitis.



    The SHECA foundation, led by Princess Adepeju Hameed, is a non-profit organization dedicated to informing and sensitizing the public about the disease, as well as providing support for care.

    SHECA foundation has also set up free mobile screening and vaccination centres throughout the state for a period of one week to enable members of the public get free treatments as well as educate them on preventive methods.



    The mission of the foundation is a Hepatitis free society where patients who are currently affected get adequate care and are able to live their lives stigma-free to its fullest potential.
