Nigerian
actress, Halima Abubakar, has slams her Nollywood colleagues who didn't
reach out to her, as she shares more photos from her fibroid removal
surgery in India.
Popular Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, has taken to her
Instagram page and shared the details of her successful fibroid surgery,
which she recently underwent in Delhi, India.
The Kogi State-born actress who decided to speak up about her
surgery in a bid to encourage other people, thanked her fans for their
immense support. She also thanked her Nollywood colleagues, and slammed
other celebrities who didn't reach out to her during the challenging
period.
"When being strong is the only option you have. #This is what
fibroids fibrosis looks like swipe. #God is the greatest #will share
more when am back. #peaceandlove.
"Thank you all for your support and prayers. And few of my
Nollywood family who constantly check up on me, the rest are not
important and don't like my pics pls," she wrote.
She shared some photos of the fibroid tumour that was removed from
her body as well as photos taken during the surgery and asked those who
didn’t reach out to her especially her colleagues in the entertainment
industry, not to like her pictures.
She wrote in another post, “Fibroids are muscular tumors that
grow in the wall of the uterus (womb). Research shows that about 20% to
80% of women develop fibroids at the age of 50. In 2013, it was
estimated that 171 million women were affected. Not all women with
fibroids have symptoms. Women who do have symptoms often find fibroids
hard to live with.”
Still in India, Halima assured fans that she would share more details about her battle with fibroid on her return to Nigeria.
