The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission has narrowly escaped being killed in a tragic accident.

The Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Nsima Ekere,Thursday
narrowly escaped death while a police officer in his convoy died and
others wounded in a ghastly motor accident, ThisDay reports.
The accident reportedly occurred along the Calabar-Itu highway as the NDDC managing director and his entourage were on the way to Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
ThisDay reports that Ekere was going to Calabar to receive the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who is on a working visit to Cross River State.
Sources said a trailer ran into the convoy of the NDDC managing
director and hit the pilot vehicle killing one of the police personnel
on the spot while other policemen in the vehicle were left in various
stages of injury.
It was learnt that the body of the deceased police officer has been
deposited in the morgue while other policemen that sustained various
degrees of injuries were rushed to an undisclosed hospital.
