Dr. Betta Edu, Director General of CRSPHCDA, has shared new photos of 16-year-old Esther Etim Effiom, who was rescued alongside her malnourished baby at Ikot Ekpo Axis of Calabar.
Dr. Edu revealed that Esther Etim Effiom, who got pregnant for one Victor she refused to identify after she was sent to live with a distant relation at Eket as a house maid, has also been enrolled in school. She wrote;
“The good news is that the are doing
great!. We started from the bottom and now we are here (Glory to Jesus).
I can’t wait to see that day when they will both graduate from the
university! ( I already Know myself…I will spend it crying from morning
till night tears of joy from river bank)
It has been an
uphill task and a tall order to sustain this act of love (I never
expected it), but by God’s grace we are making progress. It’s not being
easy to monitor, feed, send to school and back, mentor and care for a
teenager with no parent but just a small beautiful baby. Sometimes you
get so frustrated and angry because my dear Esther will simply not
listen. Its being a beautiful experience, we have raised voices, gone
mute, kept mini malice, cried together, shared laughter and weathered
storms as a family. One thing is sure….we must see the end…no going back
Esther!
Really, I don’t blame her when she feels like
killing her baby who she sees as a “baggage” an unnecessary baggage one
she feels she doesn’t need. We just have to keep encouraging her and
supporting her to see the baby as a blessing not a baggage!
Let
me use this post to sincerely thank our heroes who have stood with me
through this process so far ; Felicitas O’tudor Boco thank you for
standing in for me in my absences, your commitment and time spent is
worth a billion dollars, but you see you can’t bless without being
blessed…you got your blessings already!
Mr Akinaka
Richard we can’t thank you enough for being there! When it gets too
tough on us we run to you and you have never fail to do your best to
support this course. Your reward is from God. I hope he reserves a
special mansion for you in heaven.
The
super saver Governor Ben Ayade and his compassionate wife Dr Linda
Ayade, your milk of kindness flows so deep that it touches the roots.

others. Your support to this course is epic. God bless you more!

visiting…we love you. Don’t worry days will turn to years but
destination we must arrive.”
