The embattled Group Managing Director the Nigerian National
Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Maikanti Baru, who was accused of
corruption by the Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibeh Kachikwu, has on
Friday, met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, at the presidential
villa.
According to a report by Premium Times, Baru met the Chief of Staff to the president, Abba Kyari, before heading to the office of the Vice President.
It is not clear what the NNPC boss discussed with Osinbajo, but he
headed straight to the Villa Mosque where he observed the jumu’at
prayer.
Recall that TORI News also reported earlier that
Ibe Kachikwu, met with President Muhamamdu Buhari behind closed-door at
the presidential villa two days after a memo he sent to the president,
complaining about insubordination and alleged corruption by Baru, was
leaked to the media.
