  • 16-yr-old girl gets back her 4-day-old baby stolen by her benefactor
  • Cross River State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) arrested 62-year-old Angela Nwaelechi at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport in Calabar, while on her way to Lagos with a 4-day-old baby girl for trafficking purposes, after tricking the baby’s 16-year-old mother, Oma Samuel.

    Nwaelechi who was arrested alongside a suspected accomplice, Ifeanyi on December 1 was handed to over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) yesterday according to Controller of Immigration in the State, Adeuyi Funke Cecelia.
    The Nation reports that Oma admitted that she was given accommodation by Ifeanyi who found her homeless when she was 6 months pregnant, sleeping outside a church at Ambo Street.
    However Oma disclosed that she never agreed that her baby will be taken from her, adding that she never knew that she never knew that was tricked out of her baby by the duo.
     “Ifeanyi told me that a woman is looking for a wife to her son and I said but I am pregnant already and he said no problem. .
    Later on when I saw the man, who was an imbecile, I declined the offer. They told me the woman has another son that would marry me. But when I thought about it, I said no, that I don’t want to marry anybody again. They later stole my baby” she said.
