  • Yoruba traditional rulers visits Hon. Gbajabiamila

  • Today, 13 Obas represented all the traditional rulers in our Federal Constituency to storm the National Assembly on a courtesy visit to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

    The Kabiyesis were led by the Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh who appreciated the Speaker for identifying the capacity of their son,  Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and appointing him Chairman, House committee on Niger Delta Developmemt Commission (NDDC) 

    The Traditional Rulers described the call as an August meeting in September. 
     
    Also in the meeting to welcome the traditional rulers was, Hon Ade Adeogun who is representing Akoko South East/South West Federal Constituency.

    The Obas and their entourage were received by the Speaker, the House Leader, Deputy Minority Whip and other Principal Officers of the Green Chamber. 

    While making his remarks, the Speaker commended the traditional rulers for leading their people to make the right choice in selecting their representative across Akoko land. 

    He added, “they are not only making you proud, they are making us and the rest of the leadership proud.

    “They have demonstrated the true meaning of being a representative; passionate about the constituency, the state and committed to nation building.  

    “It behoves on us to use them as long as we can use them."

    He assured the people of the constituency that the ongoing project by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) would be completed in no distance time.

    The event was wrapped up with presentation of gift by the Obas to the Speaker.
