    By Amb Timothy Nwachukwu

Elite Youth Development Association of Nigeria (EYDAN)  and Youth Advocates For Peace Justice and Empowerment Network (YAPJEN) has described the Nigerian youth as the nation's untapped goldmine and most valuable assets that has the potential and capacity to rewrite the ugly story of the once revered gaint of Africa.

*In a press Statement made by Hon. Barr. Nonso Henry Nwaebili, The Founder and Convener Elite Youth Development Association (EYDAN) Aka YouthOclock and Amb Timothy Nwachukwu, The Executive Director, Youth Advocates For Peace Justice and Empowerment Network (YAPJEN) the group revealed that the role of the youth in nation building is too relevant to be jettisoned as they serve as the back-bone of a society as they can make or mar a nation based on what is programmed in them.*

*Hon. Barr. Nonso Henry Nwebili stated that the youth are the engine room of every nation and the similitude of the importance of youth to nation building could be likened to a car engine, without which, vehicles can’t move, as a nation cannot thrive without it's youth. They equally reaffirmed that the youth are likened to a feedback system because if they are well equipped and garnished with the best available resources, they give a positive outcome, but, if otherwise, negative outcome should be expected.*

While collaborating the position of the founder of Elite Youth Development Association of Nigeria (EYDAN) Amb Timothy Nwachukwu opined that the  youth constitute not only a formidable demographic force, but also make up the next generation of parents, workers and leaders. Their wellbeing, therefore, has implications not only for their own lives, but also for the societies they will build and maintain.

He emphasised that with over 60% of the population, Nigeria’s burgeoning youth population provides a huge social, economic and political capital  required to drive socio-political and economic development, as Nigeria’s robust youth environment and increasing youth population makes her one of the most youthful populations in the world.

*Barr. Nonso Nwaebili outlined that plans are in place to organise National Youth roundtable, A  strategic session that will be premised on the discourse of effective youth participation in nation building,  inclusion of the youth in the design, implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of instruments, strategies and programs towards furthering the youth agenda and harnessing the energy, resilience and commitment of the Nigerian youth.*

Hon. Nwaebili assured that Elite Youth Development Association of Nigeria (EYDAN) will  provide the needed platform and opportunity through which the  youth can maximize their potentials and contribute to the Development of the  the nation at large.
