  • NIGERIAN NAVAL COLLEGE TAKES SANITATION TO ONNE MARKET
  • The Commandant Nigerian Naval College Onne, Commodore Pakiribo Anabraba, on Saturday 17 December 2022 said the Environmental Sanitation was a directive from the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo to enhance the relationship between the Nigerian Navy and the civilian population, especially its host communities, saying it was a routine exercise.
     
     
    The sanitation exercise with the theme “hygiene begins with you”  started at about 7am and  saw both officers and men of Nigerian Naval College Onne in their numbers cleaning gutters, sweeping and disposing of refuse, in order to ensure the cleanliness of the Onne market area.
     
     
    Anabraba further said, “This is one of the civil-military relations activities organized by the Nigerian Navy to reinforce and strengthen the already existing cordial relationship between the Nigerian Navy and their host communities. In this case the Nigerian Naval College and its host communities.”
     
     
     
    Residents and shop owners in Onne, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, commended the Nigerian Navy for clearing the heap of trash in front of the market.
     
     
     
     
    Amaka Chinda, a trader in the market commended the Nigerian Navy for what they did, that it’ll make them have a breath of fresh air in the area.
     
     
     
    A resident of Onne Community Mitchelle Okundo on his part stated that he couldn’t believe that the Nigerian Navy personnel of different ranks can leave their offices to do such in their community and thanked them for making their community decent.
