For convincing, one needs to witness firsthand, any of the campaign rallies of
Dauda Lawal, Governorship Candidate of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Zamfara, across the 14 local government areas of the State, to understand the magnitude of the mammoth following that he commands, among young and old alike.
Typical of his rallies, when you take a bird eye view to the ground, one will capture innumerable supporters likened to pilgrims on Mecca holy land, screaming ‘Sai Dauda!’ endlessly.
With this empirical evidence, it becomes more increasing clear that the over 1.9Million accredited voters in Zamfara state will vote overwhelmingly to hire Lawal for the state’s most coveted job at the Gusau government house.
Like a man destined for greatness, Lawal has continually desimated all obstacles brought his way.
It would be recalled that in September 2022, a federal high court in Gusau had initially nullified the election of Lawal as the governorship candidate of the PDP.

Lawal had, on May 26, emerged as the PDP governorship candidate.
However, some his rivals, aggrieved, had approached the court to contest the legality of the primary election, thereby leading to a rerun.
At the rerun, he still won his opponents by a landslide. This reinforces the fact that Lawal is indeed the man of the people, and he is popular among his people.
On why he wants to be Governor of Zamfara State, the one time Executive Director of First Bank, believes that his wealth of experience in finance will help to grow the state’s economy.
He believes believes Zamfara has not lived to it’s full potential since its creation almost 27 years ago.
Lawal’s fidelity to his people in Zamfara is to improve commerce by strengthening
Agriculture, and ensure efficiency in the products Zamfara is known for, which are millet, sorghum, guinea corn, maize, rice, groundnut, cotton, tobacco, and beans.
His people sees hope in him, and he has awakened an unusual comradory amongst his people to ensure the actualization of his mandate. Indeed, there is no stopping Lawal!
