  • Why I’m not married at 38 — Abimbola Craig
  •

Actress Abimbola Craig has sparked discussions with her frank views on marriage and relationships.

In a candid interview with Chude Jideonwo, Craig shared her perspective on the institution of marriage, bluntly stating, "All marriage is a scam." Drawing from her childhood experiences, she recalled her mother’s words: "When they call you ‘Mrs,’ it stands for ‘Master’s in Residential Servicing,’" highlighting the unequal distribution of roles in traditional marriages.

Craig clarified that her decision to remain single at 38 is not a rejection of marriage but stems from her desire for a partner who is self-aware and purposeful.

“All marriage is a scam. When I was young, my mom always told me that marriage is an institution. She said when they call you ‘Mrs,’ it means ‘Master’s in Residential Servicing,’” she said.

"I’m not married, not because I don’t want to be, but because if you’re a man who doesn’t know who you are, you can’t be with me."

Known for her iconic role as Tiwalade in Skinny Girl in Transit and producing hits like Sugar Rush, Craig has also overcome personal struggles, including a near-death experience after brain surgery in 2014. Her journey has fostered resilience and a deeper understanding of life’s true values.
