Taraba Governor’s sister shot ‘accidentally’ by police escort d!es

 

Atsi Kefas, the younger sister of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, has passed away from gunshot injuries sustained during a police accidental discharge

Although her de.ath has not been officially announced, sources revealed that Atsi, 44, di.ed in an undisclosed hospital in Abuja, where she was receiving treatment after the incident.

The tragedy occurred on December 5 when suspected kidnappers on motorcycles attacked the convoy of the governor’s mother, Jummai Kefas, along the Wukari-Kente road in Wukari Local Government Area.A police officer escorting the convoy reportedly attempted to fire at the gunmen but accidentally hit Atsi, who was sitting beside her mother.

Atsi was initially rushed to the Teaching Hospital in Wukari before being transferred to Abuja for advanced medical care.

A source close to the state government confirmed her de.ath on Tuesday but requested anonymity, stating, “It has not yet been made public.”
