The 47-year-old singer succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Thursday, according to reports.

The accident occurred on Tuesday evening at around 19:10 hours in the Green Leaf area, near Kapiri Mposhi on the Great North Road.

A truck driver, identified as Kachalwa Lweendo, lost control of his vehicle due to excessive speed and collided with two other cars, resulting in the deaths of four people, including Dandy Krazy’s driver and two passengers.

Dandy Krazy was rushed to Kabwe Central Hospital and later transferred to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH), where he fought for his life before passing away.

The driver of the truck and his passenger escaped unhurt, but the driver fled the scene after providing his details to the authorities.

Tributes have poured in for the late musician, with President Hakainde Hichilema describing him as an “extraordinary artist” whose music and charisma touched lives across the country. Dandy Krazy’s daughter, Comfort, also paid an emotional tribute to her father, saying, “Even in death, we will always love you Papa.”

Dandy Krazy was known for using his music as a tool for social commentary, and his song “Donchi Kubeba” played a significant role in the Patriotic Front’s (PF) election victory in 2011. He was also popular for his hit songs “Chintelelwe” and his collaborations with other artists, such as “Chipuba Chandi” and “Temperature”.
