Pet Lion Kills Owner Few Days After Purchase, Eats Body

An incident has sparked reactions and debate as a 50-year-old man identified as Aqil Fakhr al-Din was brutally killed by a lion which he had bought to keep as a pet in his garden.

According to the report, the incident happened on 8th May in the city of Kufa, Najaf, Iraq.

The lion had suddenly attacked and fatally injured the man before it ate up a part of his body —before a neighbor intervened and killed the it with a rifle.

However, Al-Din would be declared already dead due to how severe the injuries were on him —as he was rushed to Al-Sadr Medical City Hospital.
