Reigning African Footballer of the Year, Ademola Lookman, paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu at his Lagos residence on Thursday

The 27-year-old Atalanta forward arrived with his 2024 CAF Africa Player of the Year trophy, which he won in December last year in Marrakech, Morocco—becoming the latest Nigerian to claim the award after Victor Osimhen.
During the visit, Lookman was joined by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, as they met with the President.
The award was in recognition of Lookman’s remarkable performances for both the Super Eagles and his club side, Atalanta.

One of the standout highlights of his year was a historic hat-trick in the 2024 UEFA Europa League final, securing Atalanta’s first-ever European trophy.
In addition to his continental success, Lookman delivered an impressive 2024/2025 season in Italy, scoring 15 goals and playing a key role in Atalanta’s qualification for the UEFA Champions League.
