Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, has adjourned proceedings in the trial of music executive and former gospel artist manager, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu ThankGod, popularly known as Eezee Tee, until September 26, 2025.
Eezee Tee and his company, Eezee Global Concepts Limited, are being prosecuted by the Lagos Zonal Command 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a seven-count amended charge bordering on alleged foreign exchange infractions and money laundering involving hundreds of thousands of dollars.
One of the key accusations is that ThankGod, who is not a licensed foreign exchange dealer, engaged in unauthorized currency transactions, allegedly breaching the provisions of the Foreign Exchange (Monitoring and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act.
During Friday’s session, EFCC counsel Bilkisu Buhari-Bala presented the first prosecution witness, Mohammed Timta. However, defence counsel, Chikaosolu Ojukwu, SAN, informed the court that both parties were nearing a potential out-of-court settlement and requested time to conclude the talks.
