The Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State has officially renamed several major roads and landmarks within the council including Charly Boy bus stop, in recognition of top figures who have contributed significantly to the community, state, and nation
The popular Charly Boy bus stop has now been renamed BaddoBus Stop.
The announcement was made on Friday, July 25, 2025, by the outgoing Chairman of Bariga LCDA, Kolade David Alabi, during his final day in office. The ceremony coincided with the commissioning of key infrastructure projects completed under his administration, which were unveiled by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
“As an administration, we took time to reflect on people who have put Bariga on the global map through their God-given talents, and other prominent personalities who have contributed immensely to the development of our community, state, and nation,” Alabi stated.
The renamed streets include:
- Ilaje Road → King Sunny Ade Road
- Bariga Road → Bola Ahmed Tinubu Way
- Community Road, Akoka → Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Road
- Ajidagan Street → Olamide Adedeji (Baddo) Street
- Charly Boy Bus Stop → Baddo Bus Stop
- Ifeanyi Street → Abolore Akande (9ice) Street
- Ayodele Street, Ladi-Lak → Tony Tetuila Street
- Ilojo Crescent, Obanikoro → Bukayo Saka Street
Alabi, who also served as the Chairman of Conference 57 (the umbrella body for council chairmen in Lagos), said the gesture was a way of preserving the legacies of these icons and inspiring future generations.
