Benue State Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia has rewarded Super Falcons winger Francisca Ordega with N50m, apartment and street naming for her exceptional performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco
At a state reception in Makurdi earlier this week, the governor announced a N50 million cash reward, named a street after her, and allocated a three-bedroom apartment in the heart of the state capital.
Praising the 31-year-old Al-Ittihad forward, Alia said Francisca Ordega has made Benue State and Nigeria proud through her commitment, discipline, and talent, adding that the gesture was the state’s way of saying thank you.
Before this, President Bola Tinubu had also gifted Ordega a three-bedroom apartment in Abuja, $100,000 in cash, and conferred on her the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
