A Nigerian man has shared a deeply emotional account of betrayal after the woman he supported through pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood abandoned him to return to the same man who once rejected her.
According to the narrator, he met the young woman when she was six months pregnant. She revealed that the baby's father—who was married—had abandoned her after she refused to terminate the pregnancy.
Despite not being responsible for the pregnancy, he stepped in and took full responsibility for her care.
HE RAISED HER, PAID HOSPITAL BILLS & SHELTERED HER
He narrated how he spent thousands of naira, including borrowed funds, to ensure she delivered safely at a private hospital due to complications. There were even emergencies—one during delivery and another to save the baby's life—forcing him to run around for help.
After childbirth, he continued supporting her and the baby. Because she was an orphan and her ageing grandmother could no longer care for her, he brought her into his home and took full responsibility.
His long-term plan was to:

Despite his struggling provision shop business, he still took her and the child out every weekend—to Shoprite or restaurants—just to make her happy.

Everything changed when the child turned one and a half years old.
The father of her first baby suddenly appeared, claiming he wanted to be involved in the child's life. Even though it made him uncomfortable, he allowed it—believing the man had a right to his child.
