  • NNAMDI KANU: MY FINAL WORDS ON THIS MATTER — VIOLA IFEYINWA OKOLIE SPEAKS

  • I waited to gather my thoughts before speaking. Many who have followed my position on this matter, those who questioned my silence, those who asked for my opinion — here it is.

    Nya gaziere anyi!

NNAMDI KANU: MY FINAL WORD — A PERSONAL YET PUBLIC DECLARATION

Everything I have ever said about Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB, ESN, and how they hijacked a genuine Biafran struggle for personal gain is still on my wall. I do not delete my words — right or wrong. I take ownership. I stand in my truth.

When Nnamdi Kanu first emerged, many of us, myself included, were loud in our support. We believed he represented the authentic struggle for the actualization of Biafra — a dream dear to every Igbo person.

Not because we are slaves in Nigeria (we are not), but because we are deeply marginalized, often hated, yet proud in a way that annoys others.

We are not begging to belong.
We simply believe that if we are not wanted, we can go.

    WHEN THE DERAILING BEGAN

When Nnamdi Kanu veered off course, I spoke up:

“This is not the path. This is not the Biafra we want.”

For that, I was insulted, dragged, and threatened.

When IPOB first caught Buhari’s attention and soldiers opened fire on unarmed praying youths in Onitsha — children carrying pamphlets, Bibles, and dreams — I said it was wrong.

Families were shattered. Futures were cut short.

    Still, I was insulted.

When IPOB started destroying Igbo land in the name of liberation, I warned:

“If you turn yourselves into an Igbo Boko Haram, it will backfire.”

The North may get away with violence.
    The Igbo NEVER will.
Federal might could wipe us out in a week.

    I said it.
    They cursed me.
    Today, just look around.

OPERATION PYTHON DANCE — A BETRAYAL OF THE PEOPLE

August 2017. With Obiano’s blessing, Buhari deployed military force into Anambra under Operation Python Dance.

    I was in Anambra.
    I witnessed the fear.
    I saw the blood.
I saw how quickly our so-called leaders betrayed us.

    We warned:

    • Boycotting elections was self-sabotage.
    • Destroying our own land was not liberation.
    • Empowering violence was inviting genocide.

Instead, we were labelled saboteurs, prostitutes, cowards.

I was threatened with death if I crossed the Niger Bridge — so I crossed it anyway. And I was attacked on Igbo soil.

Me — a daughter of titled warriors whose lineage survived the Biafran war.

Nobody who lived through that war wants to see it repeated. Not again. Not ever.

THE VIOLENCE WAS NEVER LIBERATION — IT WAS CHAOS

    ESN and IPOB:

    • Burnt communities
    • Silenced dissent
    • Empowered thugs
    • Turned a noble struggle into ego-driven destruction

    Children were lost.
    Siblings were lost.
    Entire bloodlines were wiped out.

May the soul of Dr. Chike Akunyili and every innocent victim rest in peace.

Let anyone who doubts go online and read the testimonies of Igbo families destroyed not by Nigeria — but by our own.

    Yet, some still defend him.

    ON HIS CONVICTION

    This verdict is bittersweet.

The first time he was arrested, I defended him. I condemned the kidnapping. I said he deserved a fair trial.

But when I saw what he had become, I warned Igbo people to withdraw support and reclaim the struggle with strategy and intelligence.

    We are not hooligans.
    We are not societal dregs.
We are Igbo — nobility runs in our veins.

What the North survives, the East cannot.

    “WHY HIM? WHY NOT GUMI?”

    Simple.

Nnamdi Kanu rejected proper representation and turned his legal proceedings into a circus show — a clown performance.

How can a man want to lead a nation yet behave like a court jester?

    This is not leadership.
    This is not strategy.
    This is not Biafra.

    FINAL WORD

The government has stamped its position firmly:
Any renewed attempt to militarize the Igbo struggle will end in tears — devastating, irreversible loss.

    If you love Igbo land:

Stop supporting chaos disguised as liberation.

We can renegotiate our place in Nigeria — even dismantle ourselves from it — strategically, diplomatically, and intelligently.

    Without bloodshed.

To everyone who lost loved ones to this madness, may God comfort you. May this chapter bring healing and closure.

    To the rest of us:

We are Igbo. We are proud. We are noble.
We are not mad people. We can do better.
It is time to reclaim our dignity.

    Daalu nu.

A MESSAGE TO CHIOMA AMARYLLIS AHAGHOTU

    Nya gaziere gi!

May posterity be kind to you and yours.

Even when we did not stand together, I defended your right to have an opinion. With time, my eyes opened.

I thank God for you and the few others who kept speaking out. We were not up to five. But we stood firm.

When my daughter was threatened, I stepped back —
    but you stayed the course.

    Agbara Nwanyi!
    Amuma!
    Jide ka i ji.

May posterity be forever kind to you.

    Iseeeee!
