The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has withdrawn a corps member, Oyaje Daniel, from his Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) at Judeen International School, Annex Section, Mando, Kaduna, after a controversial online comment he made regarding teenage female students went viral.
Daniel, who is currently serving in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was swiftly summoned by the NYSC State Disciplinary Committee, where he appeared in the company of his CDS President.
The session also included the Alumni President of his college, Comr. Philip Ayuba Bobai, and activist John Adesogan, who accompanied him to the NYSC Headquarters for further engagement with senior officials.
According to reports, Daniel appeared sober, remorseful, and visibly shaken as the scrutiny around his comment intensified.
NYSC Takes Immediate Disciplinary Action
Following internal review, the NYSC announced several disciplinary measures:
Withdrawal from PPA: Daniel has been removed from Judeen International School, Annex, Mando.
Redeployment: He has been reassigned to the NYSC Headquarters in Kaduna for the rest of his service year, where he will be under strict supervision.
Restricted Access: Although accommodation is available at the headquarters, Daniel will not be permitted to use it. He is required to report to the office daily.
Investigative Panel Deployed
An investigative team has been dispatched to his former PPA to confirm whether any misconduct occurred beyond the online remark.
If any further wrongdoing is uncovered, the findings will be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for possible legal or administrative action.
Other Corps Members Also Under Watch
The NYSC revealed that it is also monitoring other corps members who made similar inappropriate comments under the viral post.
They will face disciplinary action in accordance with NYSC regulations.
