When life hit me hardest, it was the woman I loved who stood firm beside me.
My wife sponsored our wedding because I couldn’t afford it at that time.
We had been preparing joyfully for our big day, but everything fell apart when the company I worked for ran into losses. Staff had to be laid off, and despite being one of the best in my department, my boss—who never really liked me—added my name to the list of those to be sacked.
Just like that, my world crashed.
I struggled so badly that I had to tell my fiancée we might need to cancel the wedding preparations. Before then, I had already managed to pay her dowry and settle a few traditional requirements so she could officially become my wife.
One day, with a heavy heart, I called her and said we should postpone the wedding until I found another job. But her response shocked me deeply. She said:
"If I had been the one who lost my job, the wedding would have gone ahead.
So why should we postpone it because you lost yours?
If you had money, I know you wouldn’t hide it from me, so why should I hide mine from you?
You have been responsible and committed to me, so I choose to give you my all."
And she meant every word.
This woman went above and beyond. She single-handedly handled all the wedding expenses. She convinced her family to forget about a big public ceremony and allowed us to proceed quietly with the wedding.
No one knew what we endured behind the scenes.
But here is the miracle…
Exactly three months after our wedding, my organization called me back—this time offering me a bigger role.
Love Is the Greatest Power
This experience taught me the true meaning of sacrifice.
When you find real love, there is nothing you cannot give, nothing you cannot endure.
True love goes the extra mile without counting the cost.
I hope everyone reading this finds love that is genuine, loyal, and selfless.
