Nigeria has lost one of its foremost indigenous business leaders, Chief Emmanuel Ojei, the Chief Executive Officer of Nuel Ojei Holdings Ltd, who passed away at the age of 74.
The renowned businessman, widely celebrated for his resilience, enterprise and significant contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth, died on Saturday night in his hometown of Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
His passing was confirmed on Sunday by his son, Chuks Ojei, who spoke on behalf of the family. He described the loss as shocking and deeply painful, noting that the family, friends, associates and business community are still struggling to come to terms with the development.
Until his death, Chief Emmanuel Ojei remained a towering figure in Nigeria’s business landscape, particularly known for his role in building indigenous corporate structures, creating employment opportunities and inspiring a generation of entrepreneurs.
