  • Nigerian Whistleblower Nnamdi Emeh Wins Global Prize While Languishing in Prison for Exposing Police Organ-Harvesting Ring

  • Nigerian whistleblower Nnamdi Emeh, the 26-year-old who exposed an alleged police-run organ-trafficking network in Anambra State, has been announced as the winner of a prestigious global whistleblower prize — even as he remains unlawfully detained in Nigeria.

Emeh, who worked as an IT assistant with the Anambra Rapid Response Squad in 2023, uncovered disturbing evidence linking senior police officers to enforced disappearances, organ harvesting, and the illegal conversion of suspects’ property. After leaking the information, he was declared wanted, arrested through an INTERPOL Red Notice, and has remained in custody for almost three years.

This international honour comes despite a valid court order granting him bail, which authorities have refused to obey.

Human rights groups say the award underscores both his bravery and the grave injustice surrounding his continued detention.

ReportNaija will bring you more details soon.
