Popular Nigerian sports journalist and analyst, Obi Zenas, has reportedly passed away, sending shockwaves across the sports community and media industry.
The heartbreaking news was announced by renowned football analyst Godwin Enakhena on X (formerly Twitter). Enakhena expressed disbelief over Zenas’ death, describing him as a passionate sports lover who was actively contributing to discussions on his shows only recently.
“How can Obi Zenas die just like that? He’s on my shows every other day contributing to discussions on sports; unbelievable passion for sports by this young man. Just some 24 hours ago, he was still with us.
May his soul rest in peace.
Adieu, Obi Zenas,” he wrote.
Zenas was well known for his insightful analysis and dedication to sports journalism, earning admiration from many within the broadcasting and sporting circles. His sudden death has left colleagues, friends, and fans devastated.
As at the time of filing this report, the cause of his death has not been officially disclosed.
