  • Presidency Debunks Rumour of Gbajabiamila’s Removal as Chief of Staff

  • The Presidency has firmly dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, has been replaced by his Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.

In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the Presidency described the reports as false, misleading, and deliberately crafted to cause confusion.

According to the statement, there is no truth whatsoever in the viral claims, and Nigerians are urged to disregard them in their entirety.

The Presidency clarified that Femi Gbajabiamila remains the Chief of Staff to the President, while Hakeem Muri-Okunola continues to carry out his duties as Principal Private Secretary. At no time did President Tinubu make any appointment replacing Gbajabiamila.

The statement further condemned what it described as mischievous fabrications by peddlers of fake news whose intention is to create unnecessary tension and disharmony within the government.

The Presidency also called on media houses and social media users to always verify information before publishing or sharing, stressing the importance of responsible journalism in safeguarding public trust.
