  • Remembering Veteran Nollywood Actor Dede One Day, 10 Years After His Passing

  • Today, December 14, marks the remembrance of veteran Nollywood comic actor Peter Onwuzurike Onyehidelam, fondly known as Dede One Day, who passed away on this day in 2015.

    Dede One Day remains one of Nollywood’s most unforgettable comic legends, remembered for his unique humour, witty delivery, and natural ability to make audiences laugh without effort. Beyond acting, he was also a talented master of ceremony and singer whose presence lit up both movie sets and live events.

    The late entertainer hailed from Umuagwuru Mbieri in Imo State, but he was born and raised in Aba, Abia State, where he also completed his primary and secondary education. His upbringing in Aba played a significant role in shaping his creative talents and street-smart humour, which later became his trademark.

    Dede One Day began his career as a stand-up comedian and MC, gradually building a strong following. He rose to national fame after releasing his popular comedy audio series, “Laugh With Me,” a highly entertaining comedy talk show that resonated with listeners across the country and cemented his place in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
