Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has strongly disassociated himself from controversial sex therapist and aphrodisiac marketer, Jaruma, following the circulation of a viral video allegedly involving his son, Michael Ike.
The actor took to Instagram in an emotional and strongly worded post, condemning the use of his name and images in connection with content he described as indecent and unacceptable. Emeka Ike made it clear that he has no relationship whatsoever with Jaruma, her brand, or her products, and demanded the immediate removal of his name and photographs from all related materials.
“JARUMA! JARUMA!! JARUMA!!! What the hell is this? What’s my name and picture got to do with these disgusting videos? Most definitely you’re looking for my trouble, right?” he wrote.
“If you know what’s good for you, remove my name and picture from all your rubbish contents of indecent posts immediately. I have nothing to do with your products and I dissociate myself completely from your brand.”
Beyond distancing himself publicly, the Nollywood star also addressed his son directly, expressing deep disappointment over the situation. He revealed that he had previously enrolled Michael in the university, but claimed his son was withdrawn before entering his second year after being discouraged from formal education.
According to Emeka Ike, he advised his son to complete his education first, stressing that he followed the same path before building a successful acting career. He further disclosed that he had arranged opportunities abroad for Michael to study, work, and build an independent future.
“Michael, I sent you to the university, and your mother pulled you out when you were about to enter year two… told you school na scam and encouraged you to become an influencer, singer and actor like me and you will blow. So, is this it?” he questioned.
The actor accused Jaruma of misleading his son and influencing him into producing explicit content, describing the situation as a painful waste of potential. He also compared his decades-long Nollywood career to what he dismissed as Jaruma’s brand, while sharing images allegedly connected to the controversy.
“I got you a home abroad where you can school and work, start your life, make money and become your own man… and there you lay, like a lame duck, looking lost on Jaruma’s bed,” he added.
Emeka Ike also revealed that his legal team is currently reviewing the matter, hinting that legal action may be taken if his demands are not met.
The development has sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many Nigerians debating parental influence, the impact of social media fame, and the pressures faced by children of celebrities. As of the time of this report, Jaruma has not publicly responded to the allegations.
