The Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, on Friday ordered the remand of former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending further proceedings in his case.
The trial judge gave the order after proceedings in the matter, directing that the former minister be returned to custody as the case continues. Details of the charges were not immediately disclosed in court, while the matter was adjourned to a later date for continuation of hearing.
Malami, who served under former President Muhammadu Buhari, was present in court during the session. Further updates are expected as the case progresses.
