"I'm insulted that junior pastors are questioning my action. I'm higher than them in the spirit" — Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo

Renowned relationship coach and cleric, Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, has broken his silence following a wave of criticism from members of the Christian community, asserting that spiritual leadership operates within a hierarchy of authority and responsibility.

In a candid statement addressing concerns raised by some junior pastors, Okonkwo expressed his feelings about the nature of the criticism, describing it as disrespectful to his position. "I felt insulted that junior pastors questioned my actions," he said. "There is ranking in the spirit. My junior can't talk when I am talking."

The controversy appears to stem from recent discussions within Christian circles about contemporary expressions of faith and personal choices made by spiritual leaders. Pastor Okonkwo drew attention to international ministry figure Joyce Meyer to illustrate his point, noting that she made the decision to get a tattoo at approximately 80 years of age.

Explaining his motivation for publicly addressing the issue, Okonkwo emphasized that his decisions and public statements are shaped by his unique calling and the specific demographic he serves. "My decision to post about it was influenced by my calling and the audience I lead," he clarified, suggesting that different ministry contexts require different approaches to communication and engagement.

The pastor further elaborated on the varying degrees of responsibility that accompany different levels of spiritual leadership. "Leadership roles come with different responsibilities that others may not fully understand," Okonkwo maintained, underscoring the complexity of ministerial duties and the weight of decision-making at senior leadership levels.

The statement has sparked further conversation within Nigerian religious communities about the relationship between spiritual authority, generational differences in ministry expression, and the evolving nature of pastoral accountability in modern church cont
