A middle-aged Kenyan gym instructor, identified as Alphy Migasha, has reportedly died after sustaining fatal injuries during a violent confrontation involving a Kenyan soldier.
According to reports, the soldier, Nicholas Ireri, had returned home unexpectedly from a military deployment in Somalia, where he was said to be on a mission to protect Kenyans from the militant group Al-Shabaab. Upon his return, Ireri allegedly discovered that Migasha had been involved in an affair with his wife.
CCTV footage dated December 22, 2025, captured the moments leading up to the incident at a liquor joint in Umoja One. The video reportedly shows Migasha seated outside the establishment when Ireri approached him. After a brief exchange of words, the situation quickly escalated into a physical confrontation.
Footage shows Ireri allegedly dragging Migasha to the ground and repeatedly assaulting him, despite attempts by bystanders to intervene. After the attack, the soldier was seen walking away, leaving Migasha severely injured.
Migasha was later rushed by family members to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed he had sustained multiple serious injuries, including fractured ribs, a broken leg, and severe chest trauma. He later succumbed to his injuries.
As of the time of this report, Migasha’s family has begun funeral preparations, while Ireri is said to be in custody awaiting sentencing and possible imprisonment.
