Port Harcourt Popular Event Planner Mina Orupabo Shot Dead by Unknown Gunmen

 



A popular event planner, Mina Orupabo, has died after being shot by unidentified gunmen in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to reports, Orupabo, who was the Chief Executive Officer of Special Bensington Ushers, was attacked on Thursday evening, March 19, 2026, at about 8:00 p.m. The incident occurred along Total Gospel Road, off Peter Odili Road.

Sources say she was on her way to an event venue for a routine pre-event inspection when the assailants opened fire on her vehicle. Her driver and another occupant reportedly escaped the attack unharmed.

Orupabo was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention following the shooting. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday.

The circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear, and the identity of the gunmen has not yet been established as of the time of filing this report.

Her death has sparked concern among residents and members of the event planning community in Port Harcourt, with many calling for a thorough investigation and improved security measures.

Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident.
