The TikTok Girl Who Was Found Dead In A Hotel Room With 12 Used Condoms: 4 Years Later, No Justice

It was supposed to be just another night of fun and vibes in Abakaliki. But for 26-year-old Ugochukwu Nworie, a lively TikTok personality known online as Mirabbel, that evening of May 3rd, 2022, ended in the most horrifying way imaginable. Four years have passed, yet her family still wakes up every day asking the same painful question: who did this to our daughter, and why is no one behind bars?

Ugochi was like so many young Naija girls chasing their dreams on social media — full of energy, posting dance videos and relatable content that had people hitting the like button and sharing her page. That fateful night, she stepped out with her friends to a club close to the Hope-in Hotel. The music was loud, the atmosphere electric, and everything seemed normal until two strange men walked up to their table.

One of the guys first tried his luck with Ugochukwu's friend, dangling a whopping 100,000 naira offer to spend the night. Something about the men didn’t sit right — their accents felt off, their vibe was suspicious, and the car they came in had a custom plate with no numbers or any proper identification. The friend wisely turned them down and tried to pull Ugochi away too. But the men shifted their attention to her, offering 50,000 naira instead. Despite her friends begging her not to go, Ugochi saw it as quick money and decided to “work” for the night. She told her crew to go ahead without her.

Witnesses later said they saw Ugochi walking into the hotel room with the two men. That was the last time anyone saw her alive.

The next morning, the cleaning staff made the discovery that still sends chills down the spine of everyone who has followed this case. Ugochi’s lifeless body was lying in the room, her hands and feet tightly bound with ropes. She had been brutally assaulted and strangled. Scattered across the floor were 12 used condoms — twelve — even though only two men were reported to have entered the room with her. The question that still haunts investigators and the public alike is simple: who else was in that room?

The Ebonyi State Police Command swung into action, but the trail went cold almost immediately. No CCTV cameras in the hotel. No solid leads on the two men. The suspicious vehicle with the blank custom plate vanished into thin air. Friends and family screamed for answers, the story trended on social media, and everyone expected swift justice. Yet here we are in 2026 — four full years later — and not a single arrest has been made.

Ugochukwu's loved ones have been left to grieve in silence while the killers (or killer) walk free. Her TikTok page, once buzzing with life and laughter, now stands as a digital memorial. People still drop comments under her old videos: “Justice for Mirabbel,” “Rest in peace queen,” “When will this case be solved?”

This is not just another crime story. It is a painful reminder of how easily a young life can be snuffed out in the shadows of the night, especially when safety nets like proper hotel security and fast police response are missing. Many young women in clubs across our cities now think twice before accepting offers from strangers, but that doesn’t bring Ugochi back.

The family has not given up. They continue to push for DNA testing on those condoms, for re-opening the file, for anything that can finally name the monsters who did this. But as the years roll by, hope is fading.

Report Naija will keep following this case. Nigerians deserve to know why a TikTok star who just wanted to enjoy her night ended up bound, assaulted, and discarded like she meant nothing. Ugochi Nworie’s story cannot be allowed to die in silence.

If you have any information that could help, reach out to the Ebonyi State Police Command or drop a tip in our comments. Justice delayed is justice denied — but four years is long enough. It is time for answers.

Rest in peace, Ugochi. Mirabbel, your voice may be gone, but the demand for justice is only getting louder.
