A woman in Abia State has cried out for justice following a violent altercation with her neighbour, identified as Chinyere Osondu, which reportedly escalated into a machete attack.
According to accounts from the compound where the incident occurred, the dispute initially began as a physical confrontation between Chinyere and another resident, Goodness. Eyewitnesses claimed that the fight turned physical, with Goodness allegedly overpowering Chinyere during the scuffle.
The situation, however, took a more dangerous turn shortly after. It was gathered that Chinyere allegedly involved their husbands in a second round of confrontation, further escalating tensions within the compound.
In the midst of the chaos, Goodness reportedly attempted to intervene and separate the men to prevent further violence. It was at this point that Chinyere allegedly seized a machete and attacked her.
The victim is said to have sustained injuries during the incident and is now seeking justice, calling on relevant authorities to investigate the matter and ensure accountability.
Residents in the area have expressed concern over the growing level of violence stemming from domestic and neighbourhood disputes, urging security agencies to take swift action to prevent a recurrence.
As of the time of filing this report, it remains unclear whether any arrests have been made, but calls for a thorough investigation continue to grow.
