TRAGEDY IN ABUJA: NYSC Corps Member Shot Dead by Alleged Soldiers in Midnight Home Invasion

In a deeply disturbing incident that has sent shockwaves across Shagari Quarters in Deidei, Abuja, three Nigerian Army soldiers are alleged to have forced their way into a family home and killed a serving NYSC member in the early hours of Saturday. The attack happened around 2 a.m. when the soldiers reportedly broke into the residence of Abdulsamad, a young corps member currently serving in the Federal Capital Territory. According to accounts from the family, Abdulsamad was the only adult present at the time, bravely shielding his younger siblings while their parents were away from home. Despite the front door being firmly locked, the soldiers allegedly fired several shots through it, striking and killing Abdulsamad instantly. The children inside were left traumatized but unharmed. As of press time, the Nigerian Army is yet to issue any official statement on the alleged involvement of its personnel. Family members and concerned residents are demanding an immediate and transparent investigation into the matter. This latest incident has once again raised serious questions about the conduct and accountability of security operatives in residential areas, especially at odd hours. ReportNaija continues to follow developments and will provide updates as soon as more details emerge. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family, the siblings who witnessed the horror, and the entire NYSC community at this difficult time.
