Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been cleared to resume his football career after successfully appealing his doping suspension
The 25-year-old is now eligible to play again after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) partially upheld his appeal against the four-year ban imposed on him.
Mudryk has not featured in a competitive match since November 2024. He was provisionally suspended by the Football Association the following month after testing positive for the banned substance meldonium.
The FA later handed him a four-year suspension, the maximum punishment for the offence, but the Ukrainian forward challenged the ruling at CAS.
Following the appeal, CAS ruled that Mudryk could return to football “with immediate effect” after he admitted breaching anti-doping regulations and agreed to a suspension equivalent to the period he had already served.
Reacting to the decision, Chelsea said the club is eager to welcome Mudryk back, adding that they are looking forward to getting him “full fitness, back into the squad and back on to the pitch.”
The Blues also confirmed that the forward will be part of their pre-season tour.
