Nigerian singer Douglas Jack Agu, popularly known as Runtown, has reacted to reports of a court ruling reaffirming his recording agreement with Eric Many Records, describing claims surrounding the order as "fake."
The singer made his position known in a post shared on social media, where he questioned why he would hand over access to his music catalogue after years of legal disputes with the record label owned by businessman Dilly Umenyiora.
"You think after 9 years, I'll give you passwords and access to my catalogue?" Runtown wrote, dismissing reports suggesting that he was required to surrender control of his music catalogue.
The reaction comes after reports emerged that a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court reaffirmed the validity of Runtown's 2016 recording agreement with Eric Many Records, ruling that the contract remains binding.
