She had survived the competitive streets of Dubai while building a business and pursuing her dreams.
Then she returned home to Lagos.
Just four days after arriving from Dubai, 26-year-old Chukwunyere Esther Chinaza disappeared without a trace.
Now, two suspects are reportedly wanted by the police, and her family is desperately searching for answers to the question that has haunted them for weeks:
Where is Esther?
Esther, a beauty entrepreneur from Imo State, reportedly arrived in Lagos from Dubai on June 18, 2026.
She was known on Instagram as @pretty_nazee and had reportedly been building her business and life in Dubai before returning to Nigeria.
According to a statement reportedly given by her brother to SaharaReporters, Esther may have been lured back to Nigeria by a male friend.
Her last known social media activity was on June 21.
The following day, June 22, everything changed.
Esther reportedly disappeared around the Shoreline area of Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos.
At first, her family was simply trying to find a missing loved one.
But as the investigation progressed, the case reportedly took a much darker turn.
On August 13, 2026, the Nigeria Police Force issued a Special Police Gazette Bulletin declaring two men wanted in connection with the case.
The suspects were identified as Ajibola Obateru, 33, and Folawiyo Balogun Alagbado, 32.
According to the police allegations, Obateru is wanted for allegedly conspiring with others to attack Esther, steal her belongings and subsequently dispose of her body.
Alagbado is also accused of allegedly conspiring with others to attack and kill her before moving her body to an unknown location.
Those are serious allegations, and the suspects remain wanted. They have not been convicted of any crime.
But the most painful part of the case is that Esther's body has still not been found.
According to the police account, her remains were allegedly taken to an unknown location.
That has left her family trapped in an unbearable situation.
They do not have her body.
They do not have definitive answers.
And without the recovery and identification of her remains, they are left desperately hoping that Esther could still be alive, while also fearing the worst.
Imagine being a mother, father, sibling or loved one and not knowing whether the person you love is alive or dead.
That is the reality Esther's family is reportedly facing.
She returned home from Dubai with dreams, plans and a business she was building.
Four days later, she disappeared.
Now, the police are searching for two suspects who could potentially help answer what happened to her.
The Lagos State Police Command has reportedly urged anyone with useful information about the whereabouts of the suspects or Esther to contact the authorities, including the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Lagos.
For Esther's family, this is no longer just a police investigation.
It is a desperate search for their daughter, sister and loved one.
Where is Esther Chinaza?
Until she is found and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance are fully established, her family will continue to live with one of the cruelest forms of uncertainty imaginable.
