The wife of embattled content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaaba, has continued to defend her husband following his arrest by the Delta State Police Command over the alleged sexual assault and subsequent death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro.
In a newly released video, she insisted that her husband was innocent of the allegations against him, describing the incident involving him and the late Favour as a “transaction gone wrong.”
She also addressed a viral video showing Odogwu Asaaba kneeling at a police station, saying the act should not be interpreted as an admission of guilt.
According to her, her husband was pleading with Favour’s parents to protect his reputation and prevent the situation from further damaging his public image.
She alleged that people who were against her husband recorded the moment and circulated it because, according to her, they had no concrete evidence to establish the allegations against him.
Maintaining that Odogwu Asaaba did not rape Favour, she claimed that the young woman had consented to her interaction with him.
“Favour gave her consent. She was not forced. She wanted it. Odogwu did not rape Favour,” she said.
She further questioned the circumstances surrounding Favour’s death, saying she remained unable to understand why the 20-year-old took her own life.
“Even if they want to do this case whichever way they want to do it, I will still stand on my ground that Odogwu did not rape Favour. Why Favour unalived herself is something I am still asking myself till today,” she added.
The case has continued to generate reactions online, with the circumstances surrounding Favour’s alleged sexual assault and subsequent death attracting public attention.
Odogwu Asaaba remains at the centre of the investigation, while the police are expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the respective roles, if any, of those involved.
