The Nigeria Police Force has arrested four medical doctors and other suspects over their alleged involvement in organ trafficking and illegal kidney sales in Nasarawa State.
The arrests followed a sting operation conducted by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department (FID) Special Tactical Squad based on credible intelligence.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, the operation was carried out at Altabalefi in the Karu Local Government Area of the state at about 6:00 p.m.
The operation reportedly led to the arrest of four suspects, including medical doctors allegedly linked to the illegal activities.
The police said the suspects are being investigated in connection with alleged organ trafficking and the illegal sale of kidneys.
The development highlights growing concerns over the activities of criminal networks involved in the illegal trade of human organs and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals.
