The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, has said the party is willing to work with other opposition political parties to provide Nigerians with a credible alternative in the 2027 general elections.
Makinde made the statement while outlining the party's plans ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing the need for opposition parties to put aside their differences and work together in the interest of Nigerians.
According to him, a united opposition could provide voters with a stronger choice and present a credible alternative to the dominant political forces ahead of the next general elections.
He said the APM would remain open to discussions and partnerships with other opposition parties that share its vision for improved governance, economic development, accountability, and better living conditions for Nigerians.
Makinde also called on opposition leaders to focus on issues affecting ordinary citizens rather than allowing personal or political interests to undermine efforts toward collaboration.
The 2027 general elections are expected to witness increased political realignments as parties and political actors begin positioning themselves ahead of the polls.
The APM presidential candidate's comments come amid growing discussions among opposition parties over possible alliances and strategic cooperation aimed at challenging the ruling party in the next general election.
